OUR PROJECT AND US!
In October 2019, we decided to settle in the Drôme, this beautiful region where life is good.
We looked for a house that suited us: bright, spacious, with good energy. Big enough for the 3 of us to live comfortably.
We also hoped to have a more independent space to develop, in order to offer it for seasonal rental. A welcoming, inspiring house, to be renovated and above all full of potential for young entrepreneurs like us!
LE 27 RUE DU PETIT FAUBOURG
After a few visits, we came across 27 rue du petit Faubourg... And there, we fell in love with all three of them!
This village house of 240m2, on 4 levels, with these two outdoor spaces… totally corresponded to our expectations.
For the story: this house dates back to at least 1854 (date found behind a beam during the renovations).
En 1927, elle devient l’entreprise de cartonnage BESS ! Puis dans les années 1980, un lieu d’habitation à part entière.

In March 2020, everything was signed, and we put our suitcases, and part of our lives, here.
RENOVATIONS…
We started renovations soon after.
Our challenge: to preserve the soul of the house, while enhancing it with noble and natural materials. We find a combo of stone, wood and iron. A nice balance between charm and modernity!
Renovations that we also wanted to do ourselves: thought out by us, created with our hands, learning, training, each at their own level.
A real challenge! We were also lucky to be well surrounded: families and close friends kindly came to lend a hand!
We are more than happy to share the fruit of our labor here with you, and we hope you will enjoy it.

Our little gem, which we present to you on this site, and which we also call among ourselves "the Duplex".

The work was done little by little, according to our imperatives, obligations, work... and opportunities for all 3!
It started shortly after our installation, in April 2020: the covid had struck, and friends were confined with us. It was an opportunity to tackle a few construction sites.
APRIL 2020
Detachment of the linoleum on the ground floor with our friends to let the screed full of water breathe.
NOVEMBER 2020
Realization of the hopper between the two floors: the accommodation is finally transformed into a duplex!
DECEMBER 2020
We are tackling the pink plaster on the walls. Nice surprise when you see these pretty stones...
JANUARY – APRIL 2021
We are working on the Preliminary Declaration of Works with the help of my architect friend Charlotte Martin.

Detachment of the lino on the 1st floor and sanding of the old original floor.
SEPTEMBER 2021
The tailor-made staircase is installed by our iron craftsman Jérôme.
OCTOBER 2021
We tackle the sloping exterior in order to have a pretty flat terrace.
MARCH 2022
Dismantling of the old glass wall then sanding of the wooden beams and the stone arch.
APRIL 2022
We start plumbing, electricity and railing / veneer.
MAY 2022
Let's go for the laying of the Egyptian stone on the ground floor. Magic !

Outside: laying of travertine and coating of the low wall.

We are finalizing the plumbing and attacking the bathroom and WC.

The apartment is almost finished, we quickly finish the few finishes before the big cleaning that awaits us.
AND ON APRIL 8, 2023…
We are pleased to welcome our first tenants! Here are the photos of the finished house.
L’ESSENTIEL – AN EXTENSION
At the same time, from October 2021 to January 2022, we have set about renovating another part of the house in order to also open it for rental: L'Essentiel.
It is a large room of 15m2, with a private bathroom of 6m2. Ideal for a couple and just as comfortable as a hotel room.
So, if you want to go on vacation with friends while maintaining privacy and comfort, you can also rent this extension of Clos des Confidences!
